DAY 2: LOTS more driving on this day. Drove from Fargo, North Dakota to Livingston, Montana. We left the hotel at 7:40am and got to the next hotel at 9pm. We had to make a few additional bathroom stops in the middle nowhere. When nature calls- can't ignore it. Of course we did find a random old army tank at the smallest little town somewhere in North Dakota.
Not all of that was driving, we did spend some time out of the car at a couple of FUN stops. First stop was in Bismark, North Dakota at their Heritage Center. We were just looking for a flat penny machine but the ladies behind the counter told us all the exhibits were free. Exciting. So we walked around and saw all the dinosaur bones as well.
We also stopped at Theodore Roosevelt Park to see the Painted Canyons. The boys had sketch books to document their trip and we sat down to draw the mountains here. We explored the gift shop and walked a little ways to see a herd of Buffalo laying in the fields.
Then it was driving, driving, and more driving till we just couldn't drive anymore. It was late and everyone was done with the car. SO we stopped in Livingston, Montana at a hotel to rest.
