Auntie Em had a fantastic idea. In honor of my nephew's birthday she decided to organized a rubber duck race. They happen to live on lovely little creek- it runs through the back of their property. We borrowed a rubber duck from Auntie Em cause we sadly don't own one- we made a little cape for it. Thought a cape with a lighting bolt would give Oliver's duck a bit of extra speed. It took second in the adult races (I used Oliver's duck when it was my turn to race). There was a surprisingly quite a wide variety of ducks that entered the race.
The ducks were released up stream, traveled down the creek, slowly separating and made their way down to Uncle Jon and Daddy who caught the ducks. The onlookers watched near the finish line to see whose duck was fastest.
Auntie Em made pedestals for 1st, 2nd and third places, even gave out medals and awards.
A very excellent idea and a complete blast. I believe it will become a year event- which will be something we will be highly looking forward to. Thanks for the fun times and Happy Birthday Carl!
