Swimming Day pre-birthday...

For Lucius' Birthday outing this year we happened to do two things. One the day before his birthday and one on his birthday. The day before his birthday was a no school day, so we borrowed a couple friends and went to the Shoreview Community Center pool to go swimming. For the first hour or so it was peaceful and quiet as not many people were there. Of course then a few school groups came and the groups were older much more rowdy kids with very minimal supervision. Normally I wouldn't be too upset but Oliver had a rather big melt down because the noise was deafening even for me.

We managed to escape the pool for a bit and play at the indoor playground there. It was a rather pleasant hour or so because the school groups weren't allowed in to play. Oliver was still a little overwhelmed and still frustrated which sounded itself in a rather larger melt down.

Eventually all was calm again and the kids all decided to venture back to the pool to do a little more swimming before we went home again. Thankful I listened to them all because the pool was quiet again and we had a blast.

 

The next day on his actual birthday Jerimy took the boys to see the new Star Wars movie. They had a blast. When they got home Lucius opened his presents from Mormor and Morfar.
