Verbally trying to process all the big feels before bed one night late November... breaks my heart when Oliver said:
“I don't want to have sensory issues and anger management issues. I’m
the only one in my class that has them and they get me into trouble.
Plus my curiosity levels are too high and that can get me into trouble
too.”
BUT as my heart breaks a smile, I can’t help, crosses my lips cause this gem came out too:
“I don’t want to be this old cause you don’t get good presents. Like in high school all you get is algebra books and pants.”
He said this quote one day last spring (I'm only now finding it to write it down): "I can't even use the bathroom without having a bad day!"
He is such a wonderful kid, I just hate that he struggles with all the big emotions. On a happier note, I asked him to get something from the garage before I realized it was too high for him to reach. Of course he was already out the door. When I went to help he had already got them down from their high spot. I asked him how he managed to retrieve them and his response was "with a little ingenuity!". I smiled and he continued "I read a lot of books with fancy words in them." Yes, yes he does!
On another kid note:
Lucius has had french toast on the brain. In his plea to make some he said “I had
a dream that I was on the Great British Bake Off and Paul asked us to
make French Toast but we had to use ground nuts & whole nuts in our
bake.” I guess its time to make some creations.
