Friday I left the boys in the loving care of their father to take my first ever getaway weekend. My best friend came to pick me up at 1pm to travel hours north east across a state line to a lake side cabin. We were the first to arrive. We enjoyed great conversation, dinner, catching up, laughter and a little swimming- not necessarily in that order.
The weekend was a MOPS planning retreat, so Saturday we did do a little work, but we also managed to squeeze in some fun as well. More swimming, haircuts and massages. That's what I call a retreat. I came home around 10pm Saturday evening refreshed.
While I was gone, Daddy took Oliver and Lucius over to bà ngoài (Baa Y) and ông ngoài (Um Y) for a spring roll dinner Friday night. I heard there was a lot of shrimp eaten [by Oliver] and a lot of playing with ông ngoài. From there Oliver headed off to Mormor's for an overnight. Lucius and Daddy had the house to themselves for several, several hours. When Oliver finally decided to come home they were all off to see Oma and Auntie Dana at their dog show, followed by ice cream. Thank you Daddy for making this getaway possible.
