Pumpkin carnival...

The little misters school held a Pumpkin Carnival today. We went in partial costumes to do the costume parade. The each got the wristband to get unlimited jump time in all the boucey castles. And then bought tickets to play games.

Lucius won three two liters of pop from the ring toss game. Oliver spent his tockets to get colored hair and face paint.

Fun and lots of sugar was had by all.

leaf raking...

Oliver loves making leaf piles. This past week the neighbors tree has dropped all its leaves and his pile grows daily. I love that he is so excited to do this chore for me.

Oliver's taking gymnastics...

Oliver has expressed an interest to learn cartwheels, back flips and headstands. So we signed him up for a beginning gymnastics class. The first night he was happy but when we drove home he was in tears because he was the oldest kid in the class. It was actually super sad because he thought I'd signed him up for a "baby class". Unfortunately all the other kids his age who do gymnastics have already been doing it several years.

The second week's class went a LOT better. He was doing headstands and flipping over on his bridge. They also spent a little time on the balance beam.

simple pleasures: Layers...

Lucius heard me say that it was going to be chilly outside one day. When he finally emerged from his room, this is what he was wearing. Comfy pants with shorts over the top, a t-shirt with arm warmers, and a puffy vest. I found it all quite amusing.

STEAM at the Library...

A couple Wednesday ago we attended STEAM because I had heard it was going to be an egg drop. The boys weren't exactly sure what that meant but anything involving the words "egg" and "drop" sounded fun to them. They started by drawing a plan of how they would build their egg drop container (they had been shown a video showing how this was going to work first).

Then they started building a container that would keep their eggs from cracking when they tossed them from the second floor of the library.

I don't even think anyone really cared that all but one child's egg broke. They all had a blast tossing stuff from the balcony of the library. Oliver and Lucius' eggs both broke but they were super happy to have been a part of this challenge and continue to talk about how they'd love to do it again.

Family Photos...

Last weekend we met up with my sisters family to take photos. She kindly offered to take a few of our family for me and these wonderful photos are the result.

Thank you to my wonderful sister for taking a photo that I'm actually in. I was able to grab these shots of the boys being who they are: silly, loving brothers.
