A day at the Renaissance Festival
A couple weekends ago we took the boys to the MN Renaissance Festival. The little misters and I had never been before. We arrived before the gates opened and waited patiently till we could go check it all out.
Our first stop was the enchanted garden, with it's wooded trail and small fairy houses. The boys liked finding each little dwelling, but were ready to see what else the festival had to offer.
We found a stand selling these bubble wands, and for $6 we should have picked up a few. They had a blast and the bubbles were SO big. Very easy to use bubble wand and hitting myself in the head for not picking up one for each of the boys and all my nieces and nephews.
Just look how easy he makes it...
We met up with some friends and stopped to watch this juggler.
Lucius was enjoying stealing Daddy's hat until he turned around to see a man standing on top of a ladder throwing things into the air. I'm sure he'll be trying this at home real soon, as climbing and throwing things are two of his favorite activities.
The Little Misters loved holding Amy's hand much better than mom or dad's. Maybe next year we'll have to dress in costume so they want to hang out with us more!
All in all a pretty fun day, even if everyone wasn't in the best of spirits throughout the day. But once we got in the car, the boys fell asleep almost instantly- they were a bit wore out.

Quotable: Oliver
I listened carefully to how Lucius says his brothers name and thought it was so cute:
Lucius has so much to say these days. Now with Oliver back at school he's actually being heard. Unforunately for his parents, his volume level is super loud. He's totally used to shouting over Oliver to be heard. His vocabulary is really gotten quite large as well, I guess I never realized how much he repeated everything Oliver said.

another first day of school
Oliver's off to school again- today is his first day. Lucius is a bit sad- as he believes he's two going on five and can do everything his big brother can do. Oliver's super excited and has been asking to go back to school since the beginning of the summer. He's had "no one to play with" (in his own words) all of these hot days.

Check out how grown up he looks from last year.

after the fair sparklers...
After the fair we came home and took a nap. For dinner we went over to Auntie Mick and Uncle Hung's house to grill. The boys all played hard and we went home after the sun had set. Just for fun we lit the last of the sparklers we had leftover from July.

More Fair Fun
Marmee and Daddy weren't quite fair'd out last weekend. We had been forced to leave a little too early from crabbiness and a bit of rain. So Friday morning we ventured back to the fair to play. We rode the space tower with the boys, ate a few snacks and walked the Fairgrounds. It was a pretty fun day, plus Lucius and I were able to take the sky glider just before we left. He was super talkative the whole ride, he was SO excited to finally be able to ride it like Oliver and Daddy got to do last weekend.
