MN State Fair...

The second Thursday evening of the state fair we ventured out to explore the new sites and sounds. We got dropped off at the north fair entrance around 3ish. We rode the sky glider (the open chair lift) from the top of machinery hill to the grand stand. When we got off we headed to meet up with a few friends who Oliver told us were already at the fair. We walked around with them for a big chunk of our fair time experience.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed having friends their own age to walk around the fair and do things with. We all rode the giant slide a few times, ate a ton of fair food and walked... a LOT. 

 
After our friends left we went to the DNR building and the boys climbed the fire tower with Jerimy.

The boys really wanted to do this maze. They had a blast and might have even been worth the $5 each price tag to see their smiles.

It was a fun time. We even met up with Morfar for a little bit before we walked out of the fair in the dark of evening. I think that's the latest even stayed at the fair with the boys. It was much more fun to come in the evening to eat dinner and enjoy the evening fair air. 

The State Fair...

The first Friday of the MN State Fair we decided to go in the evening, after Daddy got home from work. It was different, as we've typically gone in the early morning and stayed through lunchtime. We HAD to hit the bunny barn right away for a certain bunny loving 8 year old.

Lucius wanted to make sure we saw a lot of horses.

While in the animal barns we also saw sheep and pigs.

 

We HAD to ride on the glide Slide. Oliver went by himself this year and Lucius rode with me. Boy did we ever go FAST down the slide. We almost crashed into a worker and the gate at the bottom.

Later in the evening we rode the skyride. We waited for almost a half hour in line but when it was our turn Oliver was SUPER excited that he and I got to ride in the flower power cab. Jerimy and Lucius were behind us in the yellow cab.

 

This year we bought a pack of kidway tickets and they each got to pick three rides to go on. They ended up going on a roller coaster and then two different fun houses.

 We walked a lot, we ate a bunch and spent time together. Till next time FAIR.
