Ten years of Marriage...

Jerimy and I celebrated Ten years of marriage on September 24th, 2015. Something we talked about doing on our road trip was taking family photos. Then I believe we started talking about how I might be able to fit in my wedding dress still and wouldn't it be fun to take "trash the dress" type pictures. One thing Jerimy's always good at is not laughing at me for silly ideas and, on occasion, actually making them happen. So that's what we did. We found a photographer who specializes in elopements and weddings out in Washington and Oregon. Then we set up a time we'd be in Oregon visiting my cousin. On the first Sunday of our road trip we drove to Wahclella Falls, put on my wedding dress, met the photographer and hiked a mile up the mountain. Not a super easy path, but we made it.

She took these photos for us while the boys patiently waited on a rock nearby.

It eventually started to downpour and Lucius was freaking out. Her camera was getting wet so we decided to start walk back to the car. Half way there, the rain slowed down. We stopped near another waterfall and took a few soaking wet family photos since Lucius had calmed down a little bit. We didn't get many photos taken before it started raining again.

The photographer was super nice and rescheduled the rest of our photo session for the following day. We went back to our cabin and dried EVERYTHING, so we could get up really early the next day and take our family photos. Here's just a  handful of the photos she took the next day at Rooster Rock.

I can't wait to see the rest!

Ten years ago I got married. We were "in love" then, but we've grown deeper in love with each passing year. He truly is my dearest/ bestest friend. One thing we've learned to do together is DREAM BIG. We can say any silly old thing and Jerimy somehow always makes it happen. In ten years we've had kids, quit jobs, moved to Italy, taken epic road trips and even pulled off a secret elopement!
Our vows said "I pledge to trust you and respect you, care for and protect you, comfort and encourage you, laugh with you and cry with you. I want to hold your hand gently and tenderly, loving you through good times and bad"
Thank you Jerimy for being an amazing husband. You are a fantastic encourager and (as sappy as it sounds) you make all my dreams come true. I love you!

Eight years and counting...

Eight years ago today I was preparing to marry the man who shared my heart. I had no doubts or fears, I was more than certain we were meant to be together...for always.

On that day, gathered with our friends and relations, we celebrated and said "I do".

I'm not going to lie, there have been rough patches. Not everything turned out according to our hopes and dreams, but other things seems to have surpassed expectations. We might not have had a lot of things go "right" but we've been (for the most part) happy.

Blessed with two terrific boys, a roof over our heads...

AND every day Jerimy says those three precious words : "I love you". Every Single Day!

Jerimy, happy anniversary! I still love you with all my heart. I hope we find even more joy together and our dreams actually become reality in the coming years.

on this Our Five Year Anniversary

I Carry Your Heart  by e. e. cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
                                    i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Has it really been three years already?

This is us three years ago. A wonderful, magical day that changed my life forever. Now three happy years later we have a beautiful little baby boy. How amazing those years have been and extremely exciting to realize the adventure is still going strong.

In celebration of our anniversary we went to Cirque Du Soleil at the Target Center Downtown Minneapolis. The show was called Saltimbanco.

Before the show we went on a small downtown walkabout. We went up to the top of the Foshay Tower for a view of the city. Jerimy sipped a free coke. Apparently the bartender didn't think it was worth her time to charge us for a measly soft drink.
I hadn't done all my research first or we could have probably gone to the observation deck on the 32nd floor. It's the only outdoor observation deck in Minneapolis. Maybe next time. The building is still a fantastic piece of art deco design and a snapshot of history.

From there we walked back towards the Target Center to eat dinner at the Loon restaurant. The waitress split one entree for us and gave us extra fries no extra charge. Sweet.

Time for dessert. We picked up some cookies and sat out in the open air plaza near Block E enjoying the weather. Great for people watching, putting your feet up and killing a little time till the show started.

A great night! Where was Oliver during all this?

Oliver spent the night with Mormor. His first night away from home. From what I hear he woke up at 3:15am Saturday morning- to remind his grandparents what it's like to have small children again. But he's so good, he ate and went back to bed till 9am. Mormor will have to share the memories of the evening, she was there.
