Something about snow storms and this kid... 11 years ago it did this same thing on his Birth Day.
No one told me that when my baby aged from a decade to 11 he would look like a old octogenarian historian. So thankful everyday for this incredibly kind, huge hearted, and super snugly kid. Happy Birthday L! We love you more than you could possibly imagine.
To celebrate L's birthday in true Covid-19 glory, we went to Donut Hut to get donuts in the morning before school. For dinner we ordered dominoes pizza by request from Lucius. Then after dinner we played a family screen time of lots of Mario Kart races on the big screen. For dessert we all tasted a wide selection of ice cream that Daddy brought home from the store special for all the birthdays.
And since I'm sharing about Lucius... I can't miss out on posting a few funny quotes from him the past year:
December 2020:
L: how do you spell “behemoth”*
Me: I’m not sure, I’d have to look it up. Hold on a sec...
L: nevermind, I’ll just go ask O
Me: ... okay...
Sounds about right, O does know the most big words in this family (well maybe a close second behind Jerimy) and has memorized how to spell them all.
*I totally had to look it up to see how to spell it so I could even make this post.)
November 2020:
My ten year old is getting himself a piece of leftover pie. From the kitchen he asks me “was it sour cream that you put on top yesterday?” And “I was going to blow on it and remembered its a cold pie”
Now I can’t stop laughing...
October 2020:
A little light reading before bed per one ten year old’s request. Reading our way through World War II...
July 2020:
One
child is studying this summer so he can achieve his life goal of
becoming a chess Grand Master. Thank goodness for grand masters he can
follow and learn from online. Also- we could do nothing without our
amazing library and librarians who continue to supply us with books
through this pandemic!! A little “light reading” stack of books the 10
year is working his way through. That’s just the start... we have more
coming.
April 2020:
My youngest just started a sentence with: “when this whole fiasco of coronavirus is over...”
Yes, pretty much anything you finish that sentence with we’ll most likely say yes too just because we’ll all be so excited to have “the whole fiasco” over.
And April one last time:
When Lucius asked me how to say crocodiles in Spanish... he asked " Is it 'Crocodilidallas?"
Nope... we looked it up and it's actually "cocodrilos"
