Quotable: war discussion...

The boys were having a discussion about wars with their young friend on our drive to chess club one morning before winter break. I forgot what it was mostly about but I did catch one part. Oliver was defining what war meant to his younger brother. He described it just as simply as this:

"War happens when you become consumed by hate."

I believe they were mentioning names like Hilter and Trump but also included Martin Luther King Jr as an example of someone who tried to overcome hate- which I found very insightful. 

These are crazy times and I personally hate how afraid my children are for our world and their friends because of the things our new president says and does.
