Field trip to the MN Zoo...

I was able to go along on a field trip with Oliver's class to the MN Zoo. It was Spanish day and there were a lot of kids (mostly high school students from around the twin cities) with display boards sharing information in Spanish about the animals they'd studied. Oliver's class had a lot of parent volunteers, so each parent/ teacher took three kids in small groups around the Zoo. I got Oliver and then two of his friends, both girls, in my group. They were so good, it made for a fun day.

We walked trough the tropics and into discovery bay, walked the MN trail, watched the pegiuns and sat by the large aquarium for a while (because it's my favorite place to sit). We had lunch with the whole class and then had a little bit more time to walk the tropics trail a second time.

The Zoo made passports for each of the kids and every student display board had a presentation along with it. The students spoke in spanish about animals and then at the end you got a stamp in your passport. There were about 40 or 50 displays to stop and look at but we only managed to sit through about 12-14ish.
