Traveling with kids means...

Spending our last night in Florence at the toy store and a Gelateria.

The Little Misters took their coins they've been earning during our trip to the toy store to buy something. They each walked out, happy as can be, with a new toy car. Since we were close to the Gelateria we loved the other day, we went for a pre-dinner cone.

Oliver picked out his favorite flavor, Strawberry, and Lucius tried something new. He called it "cream and sugar" flavor, but it was really ambrosia. He let me have a taste, since I didn't get a cone, and it was so amazingly wonderful I jumped up to order my own cone of it. It's yogurt, honey and cinnamon!! WOW!

Of course, we couldn't leave Florence without sending Oliver to the top of the Duomo. Something he's talked about since before we even left home. Daddy hadn't been up yet either, so I pushed him to take the climb for himself. Lucius and I waited on the ground so we could wave at them from below. I'm sure Lucius would have been able to make the climb twice over, but decided to let Oliver have the alone time with Daddy to do this last special trip.

Jerimy told me later that Oliver raced up the cathedral stairs, only stopping when Jerimy asked him to wait. I was also informed of Oliver's comments "all the stairs won't lose all my energy". He could have climbed a tower three times as big and still had energy to burn.

Thanks Kj, it's been fun sharing our adventures with anyone who cares to follow along. We're attempting to get over the jet lag and get settled, but I'm trying to get the Rome photos sorted so I can make the posts while it's all still fresh in my mind.
