The Giant slide ride

Turn your volume down or off
(Don't say I didn't warn you)

Daddy and Oliver ride the Giant Slide.
I believe there was a giant smile on Oliver's face at the bottom of the slide, because he then turned as if to go back and do it again. All I heard as they came out to find me was "please!".

Two Word Sentences

Oliver started using two word sentences last week. It's been super fun hearing his language just explode. Instead of just asking for a book, he will now say exactly which book he'd like you to read to him. His absolute favorite book at the moment is "drum book" (his words). It's a Little golden book that I received from my grandparents back in 1982, though I'm sure it was published long before then. It's called "The Boy with a Drum" by David L. Harrison. It's about a little boy who plays his drum while taking a walk and all kinds of animals go marching after him.

Our favorite part is when we get to read all the animal noises.

"And they all went marching with a Baa, honk, quack and a Cock-a-doodle do. Oink, bow-wow, and a Moo-moo-moo. Neigh, cluck, squeak and a mew-mew-mew"

Dog Show and Petting Zoo

Please don't get the two confused. Most dog show people are NOT friendly toward children of the two legged variety.
We went out early Saturday morning to visit Auntie Dana and Oma at the Dog show where they were showing their Bulldogs. Both puppies that Auntie Dana showed took first place! Congrats Auntie Dana and Oma. (Ps. Baby leg warmers also make great kid arm warmers- stylish and practical. Added bonus of not having to completely disrobe a toddler in a crowd)

It was later that afternoon that we stopped at the apple orchard and they had a "petting zoo", which was really only two sheep a little goat and a bigger goat. But still entertaining.

Near, Far

Yesterday, I heard a little voice repeating "Balloon please, balloon please..." I gentle pulled the balloon down, it had been hovering on the ceiling of the front porch and gave it to Oliver. He immediately let it go and ran to the back of the house. It started to remind me of a classic Grover Sketch that explains "near" & "far".

(sadly I only caught the tail end of it on video)

Towers and cats

I got to play with Oliver one evening this week. He wanted to build towers with blocks. "Build" meaning I get to build them and he gets to knock them down. Fortunately, he'll wait and let me build a nice super big tower before he knocks it down, makes it a tiny bit more fun that way. I even had time to grab the camera and photograph said tower before he got out of the chair to knock it down. Oh, the anticipation...Later, Oliver decided to cuddle up to the cat. Here's a silly video of just how patient Daddy's super old cat is with our 1 1/2 year old.

Baby #2 (show and tell)

So we all went to the Doctors office early this morning to see the baby on the ultrasound monitor. Oliver was a little more interested in eating his cheerios, but it was fun to have him there.

Here's quite a few crazy ultrasound photos. I tried to label them, to me they still seem to resemble a small alien. I'm sure the only people getting a kick out of viewing these are the grandmas, but I'll post them all the same. Enjoy seeing baby number two.
Baby is currently one pound, according to the measurements taken by our ultrasound technician.
