"Blah Blah"
There's actually quite a lot of brotherly love around here. Lucius and Oliver get along great, for the most part. They play really good, they wrestle even better and then there are the few occasional screaming matches (with a little hitting thrown in). But overall they do love each other. We've been hearing Lucius say "blah-blah" for a while and just assumed it was one of those toddler babbling things. Turns out- It's what he calls when he is talking to, about or with Oliver. It's BROTHER, or at least in his head it is brother. He won't even say Oliver- it's just brother. So precious. I suppose when you only have one brother it works out just fine and Oliver doesn't seem to mind one bit.
Here's a few photos of the Brothers while waiting for Mormor and Morfar to come:
Speaking of brothers: I was making dinner tonight and while it was cooking Oliver turned to Lucius and said "lets talk for a little bit while Marmee makes some more Ebelskivers".

Mr. Incognito
What, where'd Lucius go?? I asked him if he wanted to take those off to eat his snack and he told me "NO!". Silly goose. This Little Mister makes me laugh!!

Lucius and the Weather...
At the mere mention of "grab your coat" our little two year old FREAKS OUT. His newest word "cold". Apparently he can't handle the cold winds blowing in his face- even though it's been in the 40's. I don't have the heart to tell him it'll be colder than this soon enough.
Bye-bye Pacifier
I did it again. I've lied to both of my little misters about their pacifiers. Yes, I do feel a little guilty about it. I don't think it's the greatest parenting ever, but it is nice to not always be the bad guy.
With Oliver I told him "the doctor says no more pacifier till your owie goes away." He had just turned TWO and he had a bunch of acne or cold sores around his mouth. So it wasn't too far away from the truth. He actually did really well, he wasn't as attached to it as Lucius has been. Oliver asked for it a few times but never really cried or anything, it ended up being super easy. We just go cold turkey on a lot of things and its all worked out so far.
With Lucius, it was this past Saturday. He also has just turned TWO. We had finished dropping off a bunch of toys and other misc things to donate. Then we went to the grocery store to pick up a few things for dinner. Lucius' Pacifier was in terrible condition- breaking and such. I did not like the looks of it but I knew how attached he was. I didn't think he'd do it, but I asked if he wanted to donate his pacifier to a new baby. He said "yeah". We walked over to a "donation box"- aka the garbage can at the store and he put it in. No complaining, no whining- nothing. He actually seemed proud to do it.
Later, when it was time to go to bed he wanted it and was looking for it, but I told him "you're a big boy now and you made another little baby happy!"- He cried a little but soon fell asleep, after a little more cuddling with both Marmee and Daddy.
The next day he went down for his nap without a peep. Though Bedtime he again was looking for it. We've been telling him that he's a big boy now and he smiles. A couple more days and maybe it will be out of his memory.

Birthday and Christmas with Grandpa
On New Years Eve we traveled up to Grandpa's house to celebrate Christmas. Always fun to spend time with family and Grandpa has yummy snacks/ treats. We celebrated the boys Birthday while there and the boys were excited to open more presents.
After the adults exchanged and opened their gifts the boys got to open their Christmas presents. Then it was time to play with some of their new fun toys. Hooray, more car toys!
Then Grandpa brought out the ice cream cake. Lucius wasn't happy to get his picture taken but he was more than happy to eat up all of daddy's piece of cake. What a fun day!
And that concludes our Christmas adventures for the year.

Our first born is FOUR
I can't believe four years ago today we welcomed Oliver into our life. It's been a lovely time and day to day hasn't felt fast but looking back it's flown by like a flash. We fill each day with lots of playtime, and try to enjoy each others differences. Good days, bad days, messy days and plenty of GREAT days that make the rest totally worth it.
A few fun things you might like to know about our Little Man Oliver:
He can count to 36 without help, can count to twenty in Spanish, knows his alphabet and LOVES doing puzzles. He's energetic, interactive and all around social kid. Oliver loves his brother and they play really good together for the most part. It's fun to listen to and overhear their conversations, I love that Oliver can get Lucius to say anything even when his parents can't.
He's at a super fun age where we can talk: asking us interesting questions and even more so pulling out some very interesting answers to our questions. On Christmas morning Oliver started asking us questions about Angels. He asked us if there were a lot of angels at our house, we said maybe. Then Oliver "will the Policemen be sad that they're in our house?"- oh kid you're little growing brain is amazing.
{here's Oliver pretending to read "the two towers" book I was reading}

For His celebration we took the boys to the Children's Museum. We spent the afternoon playing in the ant hill and the water tables. It was fun, and afterwards we went to Mormor and Morfar's house to spend a little time with them before a fun birthday dinner.
ALSO- Theological thoughts of a four year old:
"Can we call angels... on the phone?" "are there lots of angels?" "do they come in our house?" "But, will the policemen be sad that they're in our house?"
