Quotables
Jerimy was going down the basement to start a load of Laundry and Oliver and I were reading a where's waldo book. I overheard this conversation between Oliver and his Daddy:
I'm pretty sure there was a smile on Jerimy's face when Oliver said that- I know there was on mine.
On the drive to church we started explaining to Oliver about the change he had in his little bag to give for their food drive. It was fifteen minutes of us talking, and Oliver asking a few questions. About ten minutes into the conversation, as Oliver is attempting to comprehend it all he said:
J: "stay upstairs, I'll be right back up"O: "I'm a big boy, I can help put the clothes in the machine cause I'm big now"J: "um, well I guess i can't argue with you about that, come on"

Temper tantrum
Turn down your volume this one* is a doozy:
Alright, when my child is throwing a fit it is not my first thought to grab the camera and take a video of said tantrum. But these tantrums are becoming quite common place around our house, and I'm a little out of my league. We've tried ignoring them, comforting, pacifiers, and the loving restraint hug. Oliver was so verbal so young we have never dealt with the frustration of not being able to communicate. I keep reminding myself to not compare the two boys, they are going to be themselves and develop at their own rates.
That being said, I'm happy to report that this weekend at Oma's Lucius decided he would start signing. He says please and more. Which is a great first step to hopefully getting a lot fewer temper tantrums.
*this fit lasted 15 minutes, then he finally calmed down. I have no idea why it started.

The boys
Oliver got a hair cut this week. It's been a while since the last one. Although Daddy would prefer to see his hair get long and floppy, I thought it was about time to get the hair under control. He has quite a handsome grown up little face with his new haircut.
Check out Oliver about 18 months ago when I last chopped off his hair. Look how tall he's gotten:
And then there is Lucius. Sweet, cuddly and very much a daddy's boy. Lucius LOVES his father, so much so that if given a choice he'd rather cry at the door daddy just walked out of than to get a hug and play with Marmee.
It might hurt my feeling except that I love Daddy too and it's super sweet that from the moment Lucius heard Jerimy's voice, he's been captivated.

Quotable
A few random Oliver saying:
“My rabbit is called a bunny doll”
"It's my job to take care of my friends"
