The spoils Of Christmas

I have to believe that Oliver doesn't understand completely why so many adults need him to open so many boxes wrapped in paper. I'm pretty sure then that he doesn't know why there's a bunch of new things to play with around the house. AND still the thing he loves the best is borrowed (the walker). But he's starting to enjoy his new Oliver friendly sized chairs from Oma Dee Dee:

Here's are the spoils from three Christmas's (we still have one more to go):

Thank you to ALL for your generosity- we're set on toys for the next five years. I guess we can find a new home for some of Oliver's old toys. Next year- Books!

What about the presents?

Oliver had more fun cruising around Mormor's house being chased and running in circles to be at all captivated by a silly old thing like unwrapping gifts.

We did happen to convince him to help unwrap his quilt:

Here's the finished project:

Merry Christmas Oliver From Marmee and Daddy!

Sledding

Last year it snowed on Christmas day. After we had finished our gift opening and were sitting around enjoying the day, someone mentioned sledding. We all took off for a new adventure.

This year we decided it was a great activity and there was defiantly plenty of snow. The tradition continued. Oliver even accompanied us for his first outdoor winter wonder land experience.

Oliver was so bundled up that he barely could move. Daddy was super excited to take him sledding. Here's a few clips to share the excitement. (No, Oliver was not harmed while filming any of these action scenes)

150 Blog Entries

You are now 51 weeks old
2154 photos I’ve taken these past 11 months
134 mini movie clips

And this is my favorite photo I’ve snapped so far. Jerimy says its kind of "artsy".

The story behind the photo: It was taken at Great Grandma Vi’s house on Thanksgiving Day. Oliver had just crawled over everyone’s shoes to reach the front door. He was peeking out the three little windows in the door to see the wind blowing. I was hanging over the back of Great Grandma’s couch so I could watch him. (I was full and feeling quite lazy). I had just grabbed the camera, realizing I hadn’t taken many photos to Blog about, when he turned to gaze out the door. The afternoon shadows were so prefect and the light made him look slightly angelic. (It’s now an 8x10 and hanging in our family room.)

Books, one is never enough

Oliver loves to flip through all his books.
Once he gets started- he'll read every last one on the shelf.

Have I mentioned the speed reading:

Christmas card

Twas the night before I should send letters out, when Jerimy lovingly asked-
"What about Christmas cards this year?"

I sprang to my craft stand and tore open the door, gathered papers and tools- everything to build a lovely holiday greeting to share. I spoke not a word, but went straight to my work.

With minimal expense, and eight finished cards. A little old Blog, so lively and email quite quick, I knew in a moment it would find family and friends.

I'd love to exclaim, before heading to bed:
"happy Christmas to all and to all a good night"
