Dance Dress Rehearsal & Show...

Dress rehearsal tonight and dance performance this weekend. If I survive this weekend I think I can survive anything. Stress levels are super high, lots of snacks are absolutely needed.

The weekend of dance performances actually went pretty well. I had written like a two page document trying to prepare the dance studio for any and all meltdown situations. In the end they just allowed me to stay backstage with Oliver the whole time. Thank goodness I did, during one number he got into a little argument with his friends and almost did not join them on stage for the dance number. Thankfully he recover with a few seconds to spare before getting into position. He did great! He was so proud of himself and so was I!

Dual Sports guy...

Someone loves all his evening sports. M & W is Baseball, T & TH is soccer. Except tonight when they both were happening. Couldn’t be in two places at once so he chose baseball cause it was a game vs soccer was practice. If you ever want to come watch, he’d love a cheering section!

Quotable: It's my job...

Just another conversation with my kids in late May:

Me: “Lucius, why are you making this difficult?!”
Lucius: “cause that’s my job!”
Oliver: “no, the job of kids is to do all the chores so the parents can sit back, relax and watch all their shows!”

Building a tree fort...

Spent today creating a tree fort. I’ve always wanted a tree top perch, even if I am afraid of falling. It sure feels higher than it looks. This tree fort is only for Mom’s tomorrow. Kids are tough out of luck! Needs a little more work but its getting closer to awesome.

The treefort got a lot of use this summer. I'm so glad we finally built something bigger than what it used to be.

Almost the end of the school year...

So I told my kiddo to pack a cold lunch for school. I also told that same child they *might* need to wear a sweatshirt this morning. He got on the bus in shorts and a T-shirt (no backpack) carrying a half full family sized box of Kix cereal.

Not gonna lie, its been quite a week so I smiled, waved and wished him well.
