Family Picnic

Oliver spent the night at Mormor's house last night so i could sleep in Saturday. What a HUGE blessing it is to be able to sleep in one day a week thanks to so many of my wonderful family who are all so willing to watch Oliver. (daddy went on a day trip to Chicago for business)

Mormor and Oliver came and picked me up after his morning nap. We piled into the car and were headed back to get Morfar for a picnic. We made a quick stop at Target to get a few things. It's a lot of work to get out of the house with a toddler and an injured Morfar but we managed to fit everything in the car and off we went.

What fun it was that Uncle Jon and Hung and Aunt Em and Mick were all able to join us for a family picnic. It was a gorgeous day out with a LOT of wind coming off the lake. I think fun was had by all as we enjoyed the weather, being outside, wading in the lake, and spending time with those we love.

Boy or girl?? Its a surprise

A couple of people (more than just Aunt Connie) have mentioned that they read "Amanda" (a girls name) where I wrote "Armada" (a fleet of ships). Silly, but an honest mistake, they are VERY similar. Oops. Well, I have only two comments to clear things up a bit:

1) Jerimy and I do not wish to find out the sex of the baby. We did not find out with Oliver and love the joy of finding out the sex of the child at birth.

2) Although naming negotiations might have already begun, we won't know the baby's name until we met him or her. We intend to go into the delivery room with a handful of both boy and girl names, and when we see the child we will find the one we feel best suits him or her.

Thank you for your encouragements and support!
We love you and can't wait for you to meet our next bundle of joy.

Elf Army +1

"one if by land,
two if by sea"

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

We've already been blessed beyond belief with our fantastic little Elf Army. To strengthen our ranks we're adding an Armada (fleet of ships) to our growing Brigade. Soon we'll be Elf Army +1, with forces on land and sea.

MOPS picnic

Tonight was our MOPS family picnic to finish out the year of fun we've had.
Oliver had the funnest time playing on the park with Daddy. He was super excited about the slides. I think I even heard him say "slide" a couple of times.
Auntie Mick was there because she worked in the Moppets room watching Oliver and the other babies while I went to MOPS. Oliver spent a lot of time running around with her as well.

New Trike

We spent the weekend at Oma and Opa's house. We drove up Saturday morning. It was a lovely lazy time spent with wonderful company. Oma and Auntie Dana went out Saturday afternoon to pick up some grocery's and Elf food. Little did we expect they'd come back with a new tricycle for Oliver. He was hesitant to ride, more interested to push it around. Oma thought it might be too big, but upon further inspection we realized the seat could be adjusted. Opa raced to get tools to fix it (never saw grandpa move so fast!) The elf army loves to observe everything- so Opa got a special helper.
"I can't lift it but I can help push the drill into place for you Opa"

"Sure I can hold that!"

"Are you finished yet?"

"So these screws come out? awesome- I'll take care of it."

in the box

Daddy took a few funny photos today. Oliver apparently stepped right into his toy box.

97 degrees

Yesterday it was a record breaking 97 degrees. Of course when we went out to enjoy a little water fun i thought it only felt like 75 degrees. (It got hotter as the day went on).

We don't have a swimming pool, but I did find that daddy's sled from winter hadn't been put away yet. Thinking we could sit beside it and play with the toys I started to fill the sled with water. Oliver had other plans. He bravely stepped right in- I didn't think the water would feel warm enough, but he didn't seem to mind.

Winter toys make early summer fun!

My Elf Army: cleaning and babble

It sure pays to have my own Elf Army. Fake vacuuming, loves playing with a broom, a wonder kid picker upper.

He's also been a bit of a dare devil. He's been climbing up and standing on his chair that's under the living room window to watch what's going on outside. He will stand up there for up to 20 minutes talking to himself and pointing out what he sees. I can't help but smile listening to him.

Slumber Party Central

I don't have any photos but Oliver has been staying with his aunts the last couple of weekends.

Last Friday May 8th, Oliver stayed at Auntie Em's house for the evening and stayed overnight so he could greet her bright & early Saturday morning. I believe he told me that it was super fun playing with her and their dog Eko.

Last night Oliver went to visit with Auntie Mick and Uncle Hung. Michelle picked him up Friday at 3pm and we didn't see him again till 3pm this afternoon. That's a long time to go with out an Oliver smile. Auntie Mick told us if we wanted to see our son we'd have to go eat BBQ at Uncle Hung's mom's house! Who wouldn't want bà ngoài to cook veitnamese BBQ?! YUMMY

A huge Thank you to Auntie Em and Mick & Hung for watching our precious angel so we could be extremely selfish and sleep in!

Dessert Date

Jerimy and I celebrated the 5 year anniversary of our first Date last Thursday, May 7th. We went to a cupcake cafe in the afternoon before dinner. Five years ago on our first Date we went mini golfing, followed by a long walk in the neighborhood he grew up in.

Today I offer a "Prize" to all those who played my photo contest. (I especially liked the one about water witching)

Take your special someone on a Dessert Date. Go to an Ice cream Parlor, Pie shop, or make your favorite dessert and eat it in the comfort of your own kitchen.

For a little fun ask a few "first date" type questions, here's a few to get you started:
1. What's your favorite color?
2. Where'd you like to go on vacation? Realistic or unrealistic
3. Whats the best gift you've ever received?

dogs are useful

Comes in pretty handy to have a big Cuddle dog around the house to use as a comfy chair.

Garage Sale

Busy, busy, busy day. We had a multi family garage sale at Auntie Em's house. Oliver was enjoying exploring many of treasures we were selling. Uncle Jon had Eko puppy outside with all of us and apparently his leash was very interesting. Jumping from one thing to the other all day and playing with so many people was super tiring.
Time for another Photo Contest- go ahead name this photo:
just leave a comment

(can't guarantee any prizes, but it might be fun playing either way)
